Mastery-Based & Adaptive Learning
Educational Harbor operates on a mastery-based academic model. Progression is determined by demonstrated understanding. Students in our accelerated program are expected to meet readiness standards and advance accordingly.
This allows for:
-
Intentional pacing that prioritizes depth and understanding
-
High school classes available as early as 7th grade for gifted students
-
8th graders are assigned at least 2 high school classes, and so must meet expectations aligned to high school level coursework
-
Fewer academic gaps carried into high school due to advancement based on mastery rather than time spent
Teachers adjust instruction based not only on the Florida State Standards, but on observation, student academic performance, and demonstrated mastery rather than one-size-fits-all benchmarks. Instruction is responsive, but expectations remain consistent and high across all students.

Small Classes & Individual Attention
Middle school intentional small class sizes, specifically 6–12 students, allowing teachers to:
-
Support students to identify their own academic weaknesses and pursue independent remediation
-
Work with students multiple times throughout the day
-
Opportunities for inquiry, collaboration, and meaningful discussion
-
Supportive guidance that builds confidence without creating dependence

Students are known—not just academically, but personally.

Students engage in:
