Our elementary school uses the CORE phonics reading assessment to assess young reader's proficiency, followed with an Orton-Gillingham approach to learning. Our kindergarten / 1st grade teacher is specially trained to work with students who struggle with dyslexia. Our other teachers also use curriculum that teach word parts, word families, and more, on par with dyslexic approaches to decoding. We have also used programs such as "Explode the Code," and "Words Their Way."
